Acrylic Painting - This program, suitable for beginners or intermediate painters, will focus on the fundamentals of colour theory, the study of light and shadow, composition, visual perspective, brush work and paint handling and application, as it pertains to acrylic medium.

Contemporary Acrylic Painting - This studio course is designed for students who have previous painting experience and want to develop a body of work. Each term a number of paintings will be completed and students will look at how to successfully compose, build and finish a painting.

Drawing for Beginners- This program is designed for beginners, as well as those who wish to improve their drawing skills and refine their understanding of visual language. Using pencils, conté and charcoal, fundamental techniques such as proportion, shape, perspective, line weights, shading, value, and highlighting will be explored.

I Wish I Could Draw- If you are ‘art terrified’ and have ever felt that you could never get past drawing stick figures then this course is perfect for you! For the complete beginner to the process of making art, you will be encouraged to take risks and to let the artist inside you grow through exploring different ways of seeing and making marks.

Intermediate Acrylic Painting - This course will address the needs of students with previous acrylic painting experience. Specific lessons will be provided in colour mixing, brushwork, and composition. Participants may choose to work from still life or photos and time will also be given to produce work of their own design.

Painting for Beginners- This is an introductory course in acrylic painting, suitable for the novice painter or as a refresher for those who have not painted for some time. The class will focus on the fundamentals of colour theory, composition, perspective, paint handling and application, while developing one’s own creative and perceptual skills.

Painting Studio- Painting studio is open to students of all levels. Each term a number of paintings will be completed and students will look at how to successfully compose, build and finish a painting. Subject matter will vary including still life, the human figure, landscape, nature and references from art history.

Drawing for Beginners- This workshop is designed for beginners and those wishing to improve their drawing skills, as well as refine their understanding of visual language. Using charcoal pencils, charcoal sticks, and conté, students will learn the fundamentals of observational drawing.

Landscape Painting with Acrylics- Designed for those who have some experience with painting, this program will take students to the next step as they explore an exciting range of techniques and approaches to landscape painting. Working from images or personal photographs, students will work on the fundamentals including composition, perspective, colour mixing, and paint application.

A positive and nurturing environment is created in the class, assisted by the instructor and a group critique to assess progress will be provided at the end of the week.
